David is a native of North Carolina, and a graduate of the French Culinary Institute of New York.
After graduation he was offered the opportunity to apprentice with Chef Fritz Blank at the renowned Deux Cheminees restaurant in Center City Philadelphia.
In 2002, David founded Joshua’s on West Ave in Jenkintown – named after his son – to prepare and serve the kind of food he loves: fresh, healthy and homemade. It was one of the first farm to table Cafes. Soon the catering arm became such a demand that he closed the cafe and moved to our current location on Oak Lane Avenue to focus exclusively on catering.
David lives with his Partner and their two dogs, Butchie, our company mascot, and Syler a lovable golden retriever. In their free time they ride their bikes around Fishtown exploring all of the new places opening up.
