David Hall, Chef/Owner of Joshua’s Catering, Jenkintown, joined chefs from more than 40 of the region’s most celebrated dining and catering establishments including Iron Chef Jose Garces (Amada, Tinto, Distritos, Village Whiskey and Garces Trading Company), Martin Hamann (formerly Fountain Restaurant/Philadelphia Four Seasons Hotel now 1862 by Martin Hamann at the Union League of Philadelphia), Guillermo Pernot (Cuba Libra),and Matt Zagorsky (Rouge) to participate in the sixth annual Chefs’ Dinner for The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

Joshua’s Catering joined 40 other restaurants from the Philadelphia area to participate in the 9th annual Philadelphia Magazine-sponsored PHILLY COOKS! CHEFS WEEK, featuring a Chefs Competition, Chefs Tastings and a Chefs Table. The event launched with the Chefs Competition at The Shops at Liberty Place, with chefs competing for Dish of the Year, Best Entrée, Best Appetizer, and Best Dessert. The week also included Chefs Tastings at each restaurant. Joshua’s offered a three course menu featuring one of Joshua’s signature dishes, Seared Jumbo Scallops in Ginger Cream with Crispy Leeks, and a varied selection of dishes prepared with seasonal, local ingredients from nearby farms.

The Philadelphia Chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) hosted FRESH! 2009 at the Philadelphia Cruise Ship Terminal showcasing the year’s hottest tips and trends from Philadelphia’s top event professionals.
